Tea and Jeopardy was co-written by Emma and Peter Newman. Emma hosted the show and did all the audio editing and post-production. Peter also played the role of Latimer the Butler. Tea and Jeopardy was thrice nominated for the Best Fancast Hugo Award, won it in 2017 and also won the Alfie Award in 2016.

One of the things Emma really struggles with is writing about herself in the third person. Even now she is cringing at the very thought of it. In order to overcome this, she made a silly GIF version of her ‘About’ page which you can find on her website.
She was born in a tiny coastal village in Cornwall during one of the hottest summers on record and now lives in Somerset, England. According to her grandmother she started writing stories when she was 4 years old. She wrote throughout her childhood until her short story about a girl using a time machine to murder someone earned her a place at Oxford University. That achievement scared Emma so much that she didn’t write for over ten years.
After mostly screwing her life up trying to forget she was supposed to be writing, she finally sorted herself out and wrote her first novel, ’20 Years Later’, an urban fantasy set in post-apocalyptic London. Her short story collection ‘From Dark Places‘ was her first published work in 2011. In 2013 Emma’s ‘Split Worlds’ urban fantasy series was published, mashing up contemporary urban fantasy with detective mystery, period drama manners, fairy tales, mad sorcerers and a big dollop of feminism. The first in the series, ‘Between Two Thorns‘, was shortlisted for the British Fantasy Society ‘Best Novel’ award and also for ‘Best Newcomer’.
In November 2015 Emma’s science-fiction novel ‘Planetfall‘ was published by Ace/Roc and the standalone companion novel ‘After Atlas‘ is on sale now. Emma is represented by Jennifer Udden at DMLA.
Emma is also a professional audiobook narrator, narrating short stories and novels in all genres.
A keen roleplayer, Emma has run tabletop games and live, fully costumed games for up to 70 people. She’s also scared of practically everything. You can find her on Twitter as @emapocalyptic and she blogs at www.enewman.co.uk but not as often as she probably should. Emma rarely gets enough sleep and refuses to eat mushrooms. Seriously.
